Please try from the client whether it works with sql plus or not. When you open your Toad and you choose your database, then your User/Schema and u enter ur password and connect as Normal then just below that u will see the Show connection options, click on it and make sure the Build Oracle Alias List and the Use Last Oracle Home are checked, then try logging in again. Still let me know whats up. And be sure other client side applications are connecting to ur database, if not then the problem is not with the Toad. So let me know if other client application can connect to ur database, e.g ur sqlplus or sql from the command prompt.

I HAVE GRANTED PERMISSION IN THE FIREWALL FOR TOAD AND ALL ORACLE RELATED THINGS. I can login through SQL PLUS.but unable to login through TOAD. I have uninstalled oracle and re-installed again but again the inteligent agent was failed to install. Hi, First of all disable mcafee and try to connect oracle by TOAD. If it is not connected then the problem with oracle installation. Also plea se ensure all oracle services are started. Please get back to me with the result.

Hi Siva, Let us do the few following and see whether you could connect to database using toad: 1.Disable your internet connection(incase if you have one) 2.Uninstall your firewall+antivirus software 3.Do a fresh installation of 10g (time consuming obviously-but worth incase if you can solve your issue) 4.After installation of 10g, before installing your firewall and antivirus software, Install Toad and make sure you can connect to database through SQL 5. Try connecting to db from Toad. If it does then install your firewall+antivirus package.

Iam trying to install 9i.maximum installation process is over.but in the last step.oaracle inteligent agent failed to load. I have inastalled oracle without firewall and internet connection(yesterday itself) but no use. Hi Siva, I believe that the problem is just perculiar with your system Now the third error you got means it can't even resolve the Oracle sid so if you have configured multiple database you must go to DOS to set the sid to the DB and the be sure the listerner is up if connecting remotely. Install your 9i and when you get to NET assistance make the servicename the db u wish to use.

Atfer when install TOAD also set up the connect either with the ip address of where the db is. But all in all some of this errors show u are connecting remotely and the user profile does not have the privelieges of tuning that why the second error.
